DEVENNY
(DEVENNEY, DEVINNEY)
Pierce Hall DEVENNY
(aka Percifer) was born circa 1855 in
Pennsylvania. He married
Sarah WEAVER (WEAVES ?) on 14 May 1874 at the
residence of Pastor G. G. Westfall in Beaver Falls, Beaver Co.,
Pennsylvania. Both Pierce and Sarah were residents of New Brighton at the
time of their marriage. Pierce and Sarah had at least three children:
- Annie E. DEVENNY
- George T. DEVENNY, b. circa Dec 1877 in Pennsylvania, died circa
1903, in New Brighton Hospital, days after a gun he was holding
discharged, shooting him in the forehead
- Fred P. DEVENNY, b. circa Feb 1891 in Pennsylvania
Pierce DEVENNY's family appears in the 1880 Beaver County
Pennsylvania Census on page 276a, North Ward of New Brighton. His occupation
is listed as moulder. Although I have no information on Pierce's
Devenny's parents, the census lists them both as having been born in
Pennsylvania. Pierce Hall DEVENNY died on 19 Jan 1896.
