It is likely that all of Charity (HEAPS) CHANNELL's children died at a young age, as their nephew George Washington CHANNELL was named heir in their Wills.

William Alexander HEAPS was the son of Capt. John HEAPS and Martha ALEXANDER. He was born on 7 Jan 1828 at Harford Co, Maryland. He married Araminta Ellen CHANNELL, daughter of Abel CHANNELL and Jane ANDERSON, on 16 Mar 1852 in York Co, Pennsylvania. William and Araminta had at least four children:

  1. Hugh Henry HEAPS
  2. William Channell HEAPS
  3. Dr. John Thomas HEAPS
  4. Mary Jane HEAPS, b. 30 Sep 1858, d. 18 Jan 1936
William Alexander HEAPS died on 4 Jun 1899. He is buried at Slate Ridge Cemetery, York Co, Pennsyvlania.
