Thomas JANNEY was the son of William JANNEY and Deborah (--?--). He was born on 18 Mar 1679 at Handforth, Cheshire, England. He immigrated to West Nottingham, Chester Co, Pennsylvania circa 1700. Circa 1720 he moved to Cecil Co, Maryland. He married Magdalen HARTSHORNE. Thomas and Magdalen had at least five children:

Thomas JANNEY died cir 1750 in Cecil Co, Maryland. His Will was probated on 22 Mar 1751.

Isaac JANNEY was the son of Thomas JANNEY and Magdalen HARTSHORNE. He married Sarah (--?--) circa 1758. He was disowned by the Nottingham Meeting on 16 Dec 1758, probably for "marrying out". Isaac and Sarah had at least three children:

  1. Deborah JANNEY
  2. Thomas JANNEY, d. 1829
  3. James JANNEY, mar. Margaret GILLESPIE on 29 Aug 1803, d. 1828
Isaac JANNEY died in 1776. The Will that he left on 23 Nov 1775 was probated on 20 Apr 1776.

Deborah JANNEY was the daughter of Isaac JANNEY and Sarah (--?--). She married John CHANNELL, son of John CHANNELL and Rachel (--?--), on 12 May 1785 at the Little Britain Public Meeting of Friends. Deborah and John had at least four children, listed with their father.
