Joseph Lloyd LECOMPTE was born in 1806 in Cambridge, Dorchester Co., Maryland. His name appears as "James Lloyd LECOMPTE" in the Goldsborough Collection at the Maryland Historical Society. Although his parents are unknown, it is believed that he had three brothers; Thomas LECOMPTE, Peter LECOMPTE, and William LECOMPTE. He married Emily DAWSON. Lloyd and Emily LECOMPTE had at least ten children:

  8. Lewis LECOMPTE, b. cir 1854 in Maryland.
  9. Humphrey LECOMPTE, b. cir 1857 in Maryland.
  10. Mary LECOMPTE, b. cir 1859 in Maryland.
Joseph Lloyd LECOMPTE died in 1859, probably in Baltimore, Maryland. Emily (DAWSON) LECOMPTE died in 1890. They are buried together at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.

James H. LECOMPTE was the son of Joseph Lloyd LECOMPTE and Emily DAWSON. He was born on 19 Nov 1845 in Maryland. He married Anna E. MCMAHAN, daughter of Solomon MCMAHAN, Esq. and Rebecca MERRICK. James and Anna had at least three children:

  2. Howard Lloyd LECOMPTE

James H. LECOMPTE died 19 Sep 1908, and was buried with his wife at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.

Howard Lloyd LECOMPTE was the son of James H. LECOMPTE and Anna E. MCMAHAN. He was born on 20 Oct 1870 in Maryland. He married Clara Belle LITTLE, the daughter of David LITTLE and Mary M. SCHARF. They had at least three children:

  1. Lillian Beatrice LECOMPTE, b. 3 Jun 1892, Maryland; mar. Lawrence Aylsworth KAHN, son of David KAHN and (--?--), on 17 Jul 1913; d. 8 Mar 1972
  2. Ruth Elizabeth LECOMPTE
  3. James H. LECOMPTE, b. cir 22 Jul 1901; mar. Helen Margaret SEIBERT, daughter of Lawrence SEIBERT and Barbara WILD, on 14 Jun 1922

He married Mary Florence LITTLE on 11 Jan 1911 in Arlington, Maryland. Howard L. LECOMPTE died on 25 Sep 1942, and was buried with both his wives at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.

She married Albert CHANNELL, Sr., son of George Washington CHANNELL and Elizabeth FERRY, on 18 Dec 1914. Ruth and Albert CHANNELL had two children, listed with their father.

Ruth Elizabeth (LECOMPTE) CHANNELL died on 5 Nov 1955 in Maryland. She was 58 years old.
