Thomas H. Leonard        Be it Remembered that on the twenty 

and Susan his wife       second day of January in the year of our 

to                       Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty

Solomon McMahan Jr.      one the following Deed or Instrument of

writing was received to be recorded and was accordingly enrolled as fol=

lows to wit: This Indenture made this eighteenth day of January  

in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one

between Thomas H. Leonard and Susan Leonard his wife of Talbot 

County in the State of Maryland of one part and Solomon Mc

Mahan Jun.r of the County and State of the other part. Witnesseth 

that for [--?--] Consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and







eighty eight dollards thirty one and one quarter cents current money by the

said Solomon McMahan Jr. to the said Thomas H. Leonard and Susan

his wife in hand paid at out before the sealing and delivery of these 

presents: the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge the said 

Thomas H. Leonard and Susan Leonard his wife hath bargained and
