KATZER


Johannes KATZER, also known as John KATZER, was born 15 Jan 1843 at Lodenitz/Mikulov, Bohemia (now Czechoslovakia). He married Caroline PROUSE (possibly PRAUSE) in 1868 in Bohemia (now Czechoslovakia). On 12 Jul 1882 Johannes and Caroline brought their eight children to the United States, arriving at Castle Garden in New York City, New York. They eventually settled in Greeley, Kansas, where John purchased a homestead and farmed. Johannes KATZER and Caroline PROUSE had the following children:

Anna Caroline Katzer, daughter of Ferdinand, was born 3 Mar 1900 at Leoti, Wichita Co., Kansas. She married Eugene August STOMP, son of John Peter STOMP and Catherine Margaret WASSMER, on 1 May 1923 at St. John's Catholic Church, Greeley, Anderson Co., Kansas.
