KOETTING
John H. KOETTING married Catherine BULLE (possibly BOELLER). Their only known child was:
John KOETTING and Catherine BULLE died at sea while emigrating to the United States (see Research Notes).
Margaret KOETTING, daughter of John H. KOETTING, (also known as Affirma, Afirma Margaret, Margretha, Mary, and Gertrud), was born either Jan 1835 or 1837 in Hanover, Prussia (see Research Notes). It is believed that she immigrated to the United States when she was two years old and that both her parents died on the ship. According to family history, an uncle in St. Charles cared for her. She married Leopold WASSMER, son of Lawrence WASSMER and Maria Ursula (--?--), on 23 Aug 1854 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Charles, St. Charles Co., Missouri. Following Leopold's death in 1864, she married William AYASS (AYERS) 6 Dec 1866 at St. Peters Church in St. Charles, Missouri. She and William moved to Anderson Co., Kansas sometime before 1880.
Margert (KOETTING) AYASS died 23 Jan 1919 at her home in Garnett, Anderson Co., Kansas, and is buried in Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett.
