William STEMMERMAN was born 2 Jan 1835 in Prussia. He immigrated to the United States in 1853. He married Anna M. DEWEISS in 1860, probably in New York City, New York. William STEMMERMAN and Anna M. DEWEISS had the following children:

  2. Emma, b. 10 Apr 1867 at Covington, Kenton Co, Kentucky; mar. Melzo Augustus SWISHER, son of Robert SWISHER and Mary M. (--?--), 5 Jul 1887 at Leavenworth, Kansas; mar. Lon B. MANN after 1910 (when Melzo died); d. 9 Mar 1953 in Buchanan Co, Missouri, at age 85; bur. at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Buchanan Co, Missouri
  3. Kate, b. in 1874 in Leavenworth, Kansas; mar. twice (names of husbands unknown) and had at least four children. Kate disappeared while married to her second husband. It is not known what happened to her.

William STEMMERMAN died 6 Jan 1923 at the home of his daughter Emma in Rushville, Buchanan Co, Missouri, at age 88 and was buried 7 Jan 1923 at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Rushville, Missouri.

George William STEMMERMAN , son of William, was born 18 Apr 1863 in Ohio. He married Elizabeth Henrietta HINRICHSON, daughter of Lydich HENRICHSEN and Wilhelmina (--?--), before 1897. George William STEMMERMAN and Elizabeth Henrietta HINRICHSON had the following children:

  1. Lucille, b. 11 Jan 1897; mar. Arthur KENTON, son of Charles KENTON and Marya (--?--); d. Jun 1986 at Lawrence, Douglas Co, Kansas, at age 89
  2. Arthur W., b. 5 Dec 1898 in Leavenworth Co, Kansas; mar. Isabelle JOHSTONE, daughter of James JOHNSTONE and Mary FERGUSON, 11 Jun 1929 at Lawrence, Douglas Co, Kansas; d. 1 Apr 1982 at Lawrence, Douglas Co, Kansas, at age 83; bur. 5 Apr 1982 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Section 17, Lawrence, Douglas Co, Kansas
  3. Charles, b. 13 May 1904 at Leavenworth Co, Kansas, d. 1 Nov 1905 at Leavenworth Co, Kansas, at age 1; bur. 3 Nov 1905 at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Old Race Track section, Lansing, Leavenworth Co, Kansas
  4. Elsie Mae
  5. Emma Mae, born 10 Jul 1906 (twin to Elsie Mae) at Leavenworth Co., Kansas; married Luther Otis TEVEBAUGH 7 Jul 1931 at Castle Rock, Douglas Co., Colorado; d. 19 Mar 1991 at Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., Colorado, at age 84; bur. at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She and Luther had no children

George William STEMMERMAN died 8 June 1919 from injuries received when he fell off a ladder while repairing a barn at the family farm near Tonganoxie, Leavenworth, Kansas, at age 56. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie, Leavenworth Co., Kansas.

Elsie Mae STEMMERMAN , daughter of George William, was born 10 Jul 1906 at Leavenworth, Kansas. She married Arthur Gustov LINDQUIST, the son of Gustaf LINDQUIST and Ida Maria ERLANDSDOTTER, 16 Jan 1930 at home of Reverend Bruce BROWN in Los Angeles, California. Following Arthur's death in 1955, she married Guy HOLLEN either 1956 or 1957 at West Covina, California.

She died 14 Mar 1991 at Petaluma, Sonoma Co, California, at age 84. She is buried with Arthur in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, El Paso Co, Colorado.
