Lawrence WASSMER (also known as Lorenz WASMER) married Maria Ursula (--?--) (see Research Notes). Maria Ursula was born 16 Oct 1797 and was buried 16 Apr 1861 at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri. Lawrence WASSMER and Maria Ursula (--?--) had the following known children:

Leopold WASSMER, son of Lawrence, was born in 1826 in Baden. He married Margaret KOETTING, daughter of John H. KOETTING and Catherine BULLE (possibly BOELLER), 23 Aug 1854 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Charles, St. Charles, Missouri. Leopold was a baker and owned a bakery in St. Charles. Leopold WASSMER and Margaret KOETTING had the following children:

  1. Joseph, b. 11 Sep 1855 at St. Charles, Missouri; baptized 23 Sep 1855; mar. Mary HELLRICH circa 1899; d. 3 Dec 1928 at Garnett, Anderson Co, Kansas, USA, at age 73; bur. at Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett, Anderson Co, Kansas

  4. Herman, (aka John H. and Harmon), b. 10 Feb 1861 at St. Charles, Missouri; bap. 17 Feb 1861; mar. Margaretha HOELSCHER cir 1887; d. 4 Mar 1912 at Katherine (WASSMER) STOMP's home, Garnett, Kansas, at age 51; bur. at St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio, Kansas
  5. Theresa, (aka Maria Theresa), b. 4 Mar 1863 at St. Charles, Missouri; bap. 15 Mar 1863; m. Henry F. ROECKERS, son of Gerhardt ROECKERS and Maria Gesina OTTEN, 1880; d. 1891

According to family history, Leopold WASSMER died 19 Aug 1864 while serving in the Home Guard of St. Charles (but see Research Notes).

Catherine Margaret WASSMER, daughter of Leopold WASSMER, (also known as Kate, Mary C., Mary Katherine, and Katie) was born 27 Mar or 29 Mar 1857 at St. Charles, St. Charles Co, Missouri, and baptized 20 Apr 1857 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Charles. She married John Peter STOMP, son of John Peter STOMP and Mary DIDIER, on 25 Oct 1883 at Scipio, Anderson Co, Kansas. She died 15 Jul 1923 at Garnett, Anderson Co, Kansas, at age 66 and was buried 19 Jul 1923 at Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett.
